    I am an employer looking for a temp/interim role to be filled

    There are a number of reasons why you might need a temporary employee – maternity cover, an increased workload that means your team need an extra pair of hands, whatever it is – we’ve got you covered. Our considered approach means we can act quickly to find you the right support in the shape of a temporary employee or interim contractor who fits the bill.

    There are many options open to you. You can employ the individual directly through your own payroll and head count or you can use our services, giving you the flexible option of paying weekly or monthly, using an hourly or day rate.     I am looking for short term or flexible work

    There are many benefits to temporary work including the flexibility that comes with taking on shorter term commitments, like starting work immediately and weekly pay.

    Who will I be employed by?

    While you’re temping you will be employed by Rowlands Recruitment. Maggie will be your first point of contact and you can get in touch with her anytime you need.

    While you’re on contract, you will be employed and paid by the company you are working with.

    If there is anything you are unsure about – let us know, we are here to help and can talk to the employer on your behalf if you need us to.

    When will I get paid?

    If you are on a temporary assignment with Rowlands you will be paid each week on a Thursday. The first week will be in arrears, so you will start receiving payments from your second Thursday.

    Can I still go on a holiday?

    Absolutely! Just make sure to let Maggie know the dates you have booked in advance so she can make sure the company knows about it. Unless there are special circumstances agreed you will be paid 4% holiday pay – which works out as the equivalent of 2 working weeks’ holiday a year – on top of your basic salary, so this means any days you take as holiday will be unpaid.

    Who should I contact if I am unable to come to work?

    Please make sure you let Maggie know by 9.00am on the day. Maggie will speak to the company on your behalf. If you are going to be off work for longer than initially expected please make sure you keep us updated. We will let you know if your employer needs anything from you in your absence.

    What is my notice period?

    It is very simple to finish a temporary assignment, you will be employed through what we call a ‘zero hour contract’ – this offers you complete flexibility when finishing a temporary assignment. If you are resigning from your contract with Rowlands only a minimum notice period will apply.
