An exciting time to join this start-up company at the beginning of its journey, overseeing the setup of the laboratory and implementation of all quality control activities.

Providing assistance for two days a week in the laboratory, you will be involved in all decisions which will impact the quality of the product, including sampling, setting specification, testing, developing procedures overseeing final batch release.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing the pharmaceutical quality systems documentation, relating to quality control functions 

  • Selecting and procuring laboratory equipment

  • Reviewing and approving master plans for the quality control laboratory  

  • Performing analytical testing in accordance with standard operational procedures, ensuring compliance and quality of the data results

  • Testing and either approving or rejecting starting materials and immediate, bulk or finished products 

Experience and skills required:

  • Hold at least a bachelor’s degree in biological sciences or a related discipline 

  • Minimum 2 years’ post-degree experience, ideally within a pharmaceutical, biotechnology or related industry  

  • Strong communication and presentation skills and the ability to influence others

  • Good technical knowledge of the legal and regulatory requirements relating to good manufacturing practice, the production of botanical drugs for human use and handling of controlled drugs

  • Previous experience using routine analytical instruments and techniques
