A truly unique opportunity to join an innovative business and work collaboratively with the General Counsel in providing cross-border and multi-jurisdictional legal support.

In this hands-on role, you will ensure the legal functions, including internal and external resources, are run in alignment with Group aims and objectives and provide commercially focused legal advice, ensuring the group retains its leading-edge credentials.

Ideally you will be an experienced English or European qualified Solicitor, thrive in a cutting edge, entrepreneurial environment, be adept at managing change and comfortable working in a highly regulated sector. This role will report to the General Counsel in Jersey, while also working closely with other functions in the Group.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Drafting and providing advice on a wide range of commercial legal matters including financial regulation, investments, acquisitions and shareholder agreements 

  • Supporting the General Counsel by providing innovative solutions to practical legal issues

  • Working closely with the compliance function and the General Counsel to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements at all times 

  • Preparing board and management reports on the progress of legal and regulatory matters and strategic legal direction

  • Monitoring changes in legislation which could have an impact on the business 

  • Reviewing legal fees and assisting with the management of the legal budget

Experience and skills required:

  • Ideally hold an undergraduate law degree from a common law or civil law jurisdiction 

  • English or European qualified Solicitor with 3 – 6 years post qualification experience in corporate or commercial law, gained in a leading law firm and/or in-house

  • Experience managing external counsel and other external stakeholders 

  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to run numerous transactions and manage multi-jurisdictional requirements
