A unique opportunity for an experienced Horticulturalist to join a new company and oversee the setup and start-up cultivation activities. This is an exciting time to join a company which is at the start of its journey.
As Farm Manager, you will oversee the cultivation of arable crop, creating and implementing the standard operational procedures, plant selection process and assisting with staff training.
Ideally, you will have previous experience developing standard operational procedures relating to horticultural production and quality assurance, previously managed external contractors and have a track record in providing staff training.
Responsibilities will include:
Drafting, approving and implementing standard operational practices, regarding good agricultural practice and post-harvest activities
Germinating initial stock seeds and selecting and caring for mother plants
Determining and controlling the optimal environmental conditions for all stages of the plants’ development
Supervising the cleaning and maintenance of all production areas and equipment
Supervising all processes in the vegetative, flowering and post-harvest phases
Experience and skills required:
Minimum Bachelor’s degree in botany, horticulture or similar
Demonstrable knowledge of EU good manufacturing practice for herbal and active pharmaceutical ingredients for human use
Excellent technical knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements relating to the handling of controlled dugs
Minimum 2 years’ experience cultivating cannabis in more than one research or commercial setting, including
Technical knowledge of operational lighting and fertigation equipment and experience operating complex environmental control systems, including environmental control system
