An excellent career opportunity for a compliance professional to join a well-regarded private banking and asset management organisation to carry out the risk management function, with emphasis on ensuring that the business operates within all required legislation and regulations.

Reporting to the Head of Compliance, you will have responsibility for the compliance monitoring programmes and ensure the company’s procedures are implemented. Within this role you will also assist with training to employees on regulatory issues. 

Responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring that effective risk based monitoring programmes are prepared and approved by the relevant Jersey governance forum

  • Conducting, within planned timeframes, all monitoring scheduled under the approved monitoring programmes for the Jersey businesses

  • Ensuring, by effective tracking and monitoring, that any findings or recommendations arising out of monitoring reports are concluded within agreed timeframes escalating overdue items as necessary

  • Supervising and coordinating the workload of the Risk and Compliance Officer

  • Managing the central tracking of outstanding audit points, ensuring timely clearance and keeping records as required to evidence clearance of points

  • Coordination of client take-on processes, including where required, Group approvals of new clients and analysis of attendant risks

Experience and skills required:

  • Strong compliance experience within financial services

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail

  • People management experience 

  • Excellent time management skills
