Acting as MLRO for this independently owned trust company, you will provide support to the Compliance and Risk Director and the wider compliance team, ensuring the business meets its regulatory and legal obligations and runs efficiently.
Responsibilities will include:
Undertaking the role of MLRO and reviewing suspicious activity reports, making evidence-based judgements as to whether these should be externalised
Acting as the main point of contact with regulatory bodies
Providing technical advice and guidance to the business on appropriate laws and providing training as appropriate
Working with the MLCO to ensure the compliance controls remain up to date
Managing the compliance monitoring programme to ensure compliance with internal policy and procedure and regulatory obligations
Experience and skills required:
Previous financial services industry experience in an MLRO position with experience of reporting
Hold a relevant professional qualification such as ICA Diploma (or equivalent)
Good working knowledge of local legislative requirements, including Codes of Practice and regulatory guidance
Excellent prioritisation and organisational skills
Previous experience of training and mentoring
