Act as the designated Money Laundering Reporting Officer (“MLRO”) for a well-regarded financial services organisation and play a key role in the development and promotion of the financial crime programme.

Within this role you will also help to develop the financial crime strategy framework, which encompasses anti-money laundering, anti-bribery and corruption and the counter financing of terrorism. You will ensure appropriate policies, procedures, processes and tools are implemented and maintained across the group and these are aligned with group standards. You will also provide a professional anti-crime advisory service to the business.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Actively contributing to the maintenance of a strong anti-financial crime compliance framework

  • Liaising with external financial crime and enforcement units, as required

  • Acting as the Money Laundering Reporting Officer for various Jersey entities 

  • Supporting and overseeing risk-based monitoring of the business

  • Assessing and providing guidance on new business, product lines and transactions from an anti-financial crime compliance and risk perspective  

  • Preparing management reports for committees, boards and external authorities, as required

Experience and skills required:

  • Minimum 5 to 12 years’ relevant financial crime/compliance industry experience 

  • Hold a relevant international compliance association qualification (or equivalent) 

  • Ability to communicate and liaise confidentially with stakeholders

  • Proven understanding of anti-financial crime reporting requirements 

  • High ethical standards, with the ability to handle sensitive matters with absolute discretion
